Intro to Coding
Brought to you by LIFT and OneTech, Intro to Coding is a beginner's programme designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to start a career in the thriving world of software development. No prior coding experience is needed. An understanding of GCSE level maths would be beneficial.
Over 8 weeks, you will gain core skills in software development (including HTML, CSS, Javascript and NODE) and build a portfolio to show to prospective employers. Plus, you will get enhanced access to advanced courses, entry-level jobs or apprenticeships with leading software development company Softwire.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
To build front-end developer skills with basic knowledge of back-end process
To develop a digital portfolio, ready to show prospective employers
To gain confidence in applying to junior tech /apprentice software developer roles

- Introduction to HTML and Developer Tools
- Adding Style to Web Documents with CSS
- Programming vs Coding
- JavaScript (in-browser)
- Local Development, Text Editing and IDEs
- Problem solving using Node
- Portfolio Support & drop-in sessions
