We are excited to announce a partnership with the Business and IP Centre Leeds (Leeds Libraries). This partnership is aimed at providing more opportunities for tech entrepreneurs to access the resources they need to start and grow their businesses.
The Business and IP Centre Leeds is a hub of information and support for businesses and entrepreneurs in Leeds. Their services include access to market research, industry reports, and intellectual property advice. By partnering with us, they will now offer even more resources to help entrepreneurs succeed.
Councillor Jonathan Pryor, Leeds City Council's executive member for economy, culture, and education, expressed his excitement for the various initiatives that will take shape over the coming months. He emphasised the council's commitment to building a world-class innovation ecosystem that involves a diverse range of partners and fosters close links between education, business, and local communities.
The collaboration will bring together experts in supporting diverse start-ups to discuss business challenges and explore available resources, including a Business Bootcamp in April to help early-stage founders understand the roadmap ahead. This support is available for budding entrepreneurs who want to find out more about what it takes to start and grow a startup.
Over the next few months, events and programmes will provide access to know-how, training, and networking opportunities that can improve personal investability of their ideas. This collaborative work with a new generation of entrepreneurs is the latest stage in a series of systematic and strategic investments by the council in Leeds's innovation ecosystem. It ties in with a city-wide vision that aims to drive innovation in a way that has a positive social and environmental impact.
To support this vision, Founder Huddles and a Business Bootcamp event are scheduled to take place. The Founder Huddles will provide an opportunity for small business owners, entrepreneurs, and side hustlers to share their experiences of starting and growing a business in Leeds. They will also have an input in shaping how businesses grow in the City Region. The huddles will take place on 6th April, and 17th April at the Business & IP Centre Leeds. Registration is available here: https://opportunities.weareonetech.org/founder-huddles/
The Business Bootcamp event is set to take place on 22nd April at the Business & IP Centre Leeds. Aspiring entrepreneurs can join the event to learn about the key milestones of a start-up business, challenge themselves with real business decisions, and be guided by experts in this interactive and impact 1-day event. The StartUp Game will be played during the event to help participants make it as an entrepreneur. Applications can be submitted here: https://opportunities.weareonetech.org/leedsbootcamp/
