Careers Fair: Connecting Talent with Opportunities in Tech

Continuing our mission to empower talent and connect them with opportunities in Tech

Just a few weeks ago, we organised a Careers Fair in partnership with LIFT to empower underserved talent and connect them with new opportunities in the Tech and Creative sectors. At the fair, we had a curated selection of businesses and organisations in attendance with over 90 open roles available. The businesses in attendance ranged from software companies like Softwire to social enterprises like Breakthrough and the leading recruitment agency Inspiring Interns.

“Myra, our new programme lead, had a great time at LIFT Careers Fair last week! It was a great chance to showcase our programme and meet with diverse and ambitious talent.” – Breakthrough Social Enterprise

Representatives from LIFT connected with talent to share some of many opportunities and support available to people from the boroughs of Camden, Hackney, Islington and Tower Hamlets.

Gracie, our Head of Programmes, connected with attendees to share how we support talent in up-skilling with our Digital Marketing School and Internship programmes. Plus, Gracie gave a demo of the Startups Jobs Board which Federico and Shan have been developing to connect great talent with great jobs and internships in the Tech Startup ecosystem.

With over 160 people who registered as talent, it is clear there is a big appetite for tech jobs and career support - especially from those of diverse and historically underserved communities. This event serves as proof that the current lack of diversity in Tech and Startups is not a supply or pipeline problem. So many diverse, ambitious and talented people are ready to work. And, at OneTech, we are committed to challenging the status quo by partnering with organisations making a conscious effort to activate meaningful change in this ecosystem.

If your organisation would like to join us for the next Careers Fair or contribute to our Jobs Board or Internship programme, please contact federico@capitalenterprise.org.
